Young Alumni - Join us for our Spring 2013 Financial Workshop Series!

There are many decisions and options that can affect your future. For college students and recent graduates, now is the time to acquire the tools that will benefit you and your financial future. Learn tips about managing school loans and credit card payments, budgeting, benefits and taxes, and money management.

The Office of Alumni Relations at UMass Lowell and Northwestern Mutual have partnered to help prepare UMass Lowell students and young alumni for the financial ride that occurs both during the college experience and following graduation.

Workshop 1: Monday, March 25
Finances 101 and Financial Management
5:30 p.m.

North Campus

This presentation covers all things financial, including behavioral economics. Learn how to identify your financial planning personality, areas you can work on while still in college, what to look for during your career search, and what you can do today to take control of your financial future. Learn some strategies for improving finances, locating and maximizing discretionary income and keeping investments sufficiently diversified.

Debt, student loans, living expenses and future income are some of the most pressing issues for graduating college students. Learn more about budgeting, money management, benefits, taxes and overall financial security. Position yourself to start saving money for retirement and learn what resources are available to help with planning, such as a budget calculator, retirement savings calculator and the Lifespan calculator.

Suggested donation for each workshop: $5
